"We asked for a cot for a fifth person in our room but was told the cot was broken and they had nothing to give to us. We asked for blankets to lay on the floor for the fifth person to sleep on, we were told there no extra blankets available. We had to use the bedcovers instead! They charged us for the fifth person anyway even if there was no cot provided! A couple of the electrical outlets were not covered which posed great danger to all users! Shower heads and faucets showed corrosion. Clothes drawers fell right out as you pulled it open! Blankets were stained! Our son also stayed for a night but had to move out as well when the night attendant showed rude and insulting behaviour. My son asked for the attendant to look up a number in the phone book (as there were none available in the rooms!) and he was told to go down to the front desk to pick up a copy! When told as a paying customer he need not have to go down to pick up the book, the attendant came up to bring the phone book but his comment to my son was "Where did you get your bad manners from? Your mother?" I strongly object to him making such comments to paying customers, or to anybody for that matter, if he works in the service industry. We intend to visit Downey again in the future but we will avoid this hotel at all costs! Our stay at Embassy Suites was a relief and well worth the money we spent there!"
